How reincarnation and soulmates are influencing your life - insight from the experts.

When it comes to reincarnation and soulmates, there are so many stupefying facets to consider and explore. I’m doing a series on reincarnation and soulmates seem to be the most common topic I see questions about. I get it. Relationships are arguably the most significant part of our lives.
Why are we drawn to some people and not others? Why does it feel like we’ve known some people for centuries even if we “just met” them recently? And what the hell is up with that deep tension that exists between us and the people we share DNA with?
To give a solid foundation, I thought a good starting point would be to share excerpts from a few experts on past lives. Specifically, I’m hoping you’ll notice the cohesiveness of the beliefs even though they’re coming from different sources.
My favorite thing when reading about metaphysical topics is when multiple authors who have no direct connection to each other agree on important elements. It offers validity.
When a child who spontaneously remembers a past life also recalls the in-between state, and he describes something similar that a doctor reports from another country about an experience a patient had during a hypnotherapy session, that’s when I really pay attention. Read on to see what some of the leading spiritual teachers had to say about reincarnation and soulmates.

Reincarnation and Soulmates: Insight from Brian L. Weiss, MD
Dr. Weiss is a well-known psychiatrist who has regressed thousands of patients and written several books. The following excerpts are from his book Only Love Is Real. This book is specifically about reincarnation and soulmates, so I recommend it if that’s something you want more info on!
This TRUE reincarnation love story will give you chills - read now!
"You will not always marry your most strongly bonded soulmate. There may be more than one for you, because soul families travel together. You might choose to marry a less bonded soul companion, one who has something specific to teach you or to learn from you. Your recognition of a soulmate may occur later in life, after both of you are already committed to your present-life families. Or your strongest soulmate connection may be to your parent, or to your child, or to your sibling. Or your strongest connection may be to a soulmate who has not incarnated during your lifetime and who is watching over you from the other side...
"...Sometimes your soulmate is willing and available. He or she might recognize the passion and the chemistry between you, the intimate and subtle bonds that imply connections over many lifetimes. Yet he or she may be toxic for you. It is a matter of soul development."
Romantic Relationships between Soulmates (according to Dr. Weiss)
"Sometimes soulmates decide not to get married while incarnated. They arrange to meet, to stay together until the agreed upon task is completed, and then to move on. Their agendas, their lesson plans for the entirety of this life, are different, and they do not want to or need to spend all of this lifetime together. This is not a tragedy, only a matter of learning. You have eternal life together, but sometimes you may need to take separate classes."
"The person may recognize the chemistry. The attraction is definitely there, but the source of the chemistry is not understood. It is delusional to believe that this passion, this soul recognition and attraction, will be easily found again with another person. You do not run into such a soulmate every day, perhaps only one or two more in a lifetime."
"The less awakened will make decisions based on the mind and all of its fears and prejudices. Unfortunately, this often leads to heartache. The more awakened the couple is, the more the likelihood of a decision based on love. When both partners are awakened, ecstasy is within their grasp."
Reincarnation and Soulmates: Insight from Seth/Jane Roberts
While the Seth/Jane Roberts books don’t focus exclusively on reincarnation and soulmates, they have super valuable insight on the topic. These quotes are from the book Seth Speaks. (This is my favorite book, and I really can’t recommend it enough.)
"If you hate another person, that hate may bind you to him through as many lives as you allow the hate to consume you."
"You may be born into your present family for many reasons. You may find after death a much stronger relationship emotionally with a personality from a past life. If you are married, for example, and have no true rapport with your mate, you may instead find a past wife or husband waiting for you. Oftentimes members of various groups — military groups, church groups, hunting groups, will in another life form family relationships in which they will then work out old problems in new ways. Families must be considered as gestalts of psychic activity; they have a subjective identity, of which no particular member of the group may be aware."
"Families have subconscious purposes, though the individual members of the family may pursue these goals without conscious awareness. Such groups are set up ahead of time, so to speak, in between physical existences. Oftentimes four or five individuals will set themselves a given challenge, and assign to the various members different parts to play. Then in a physical existence the roles will be worked out."
"The inner self is always aware of the hidden mechanisms of these family gestalts. Those who have been closely bound through emotional ties often prefer to remain in closely tied or loosely tied physical relationships that continue through many lifetimes. New relationships are always encouraged however, for you can have ingrown reincarnational “families.” Many of these form physical organizations that are actually manifestations of inner groupings."
Reincarnation and Soulmates: Insight from Dolores Cannon
Dolores Cannon is a famous hypnotherapist, speaker, and author. She has a huge number of books and is probably most famous for the information she has gathered from non-physical planes even more than past lives. The following information comes directly from her book Between Death and Life.
"Usually a handful of souls will come that you have had close karmic connections with in former lifetimes. There’s always one or two or even more on hand that are in-between incarnations themselves. They will be there to greet you. And the person will recognize them due to his connection with them in the immediate past lifetime.
Another thing that causes confusion when you cross over to the spiritual planes is that your memory starts opening Another thing that causes confusion when you cross over to the spiritual planes is that your memory starts opening up to your past incarnations and your entire karmic picture. So you’ll recognize those souls. First, initially in the relationship you knew them in the life you just left. Then you’ll start remembering other relationships where you’ve known them. That’s part of the process of remembering all of your karma while you’re on that plane, so you can understand what you’ve just completed and what you still need to work out when you return to Earth again."
More Info from a Different Session
"...You could call it a sort of discussion and planning group. The majority of us here have been linked karmically in our past lives. There is one here who is our main guide for the group in general, and our individual guides are nearby. We are discussing and planning what karmic problems we will be working on during this next upcoming life, the one that this subject is currently living. And we are discussing and planning how our lives and our karmas will interweave and interrelate and what we hope to work out karmically.
"...That’s one thing that influences who you have karmic links with. Another thing that sometimes influences it, is if it is found that when two particular people are together they progress geometrically instead of arithmetically. When they are apart they progress at one particular rate, but when they are together it multiplies geometrically simply because of the way they interact with each other. Naturally it is encouraged that they continue to cross paths in future lifetimes so they can continue to progress together.
"...Through the cycle of lives certain connections between certain groups of people appear again and again in the various permutations. For example, in one life a person might be your mate, in another life one of your parents, and in another life a child or a good friend. These connections reappear in various lifetimes and are sometimes strengthened and sometimes weakened, but they are always growing."
